The University of Central Arkansas has announced the cancellation of its annual Laurels & Stripes scholarship gala originally scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2020, in response to COVID-19.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the state of Arkansas have discouraged large gatherings. Laurels & Stripes had already sold 600 tickets.
All tickets and sponsorships purchased will be honored for next year. For those who desire a refund, please contact Beth Adair at badair@uca.edu.
Formerly known as Night of Distinction, Laurels & Stripes is the university’s premier scholarship fundraising gala. The inaugural event held in 2019 raised $719,000 in private scholarship support.
