Due to the continuation of dangerously cold temperatures through Friday and our ongoing concerns about power disruptions throughout this region of the U.S. that could impact remote instructional delivery, all classes will continue to be suspended through Friday, Feb. 19. The UCA campus will continue to have limited access except to students and essential personnel required to deliver services necessary for housing, dining services, public safety, student services, physical plant, and core information technology operations. All normal business operations of the university are also suspended and all campus offices closed except for essential & emergency operations. Supervisors, in coordination with division vice presidents, should communicate with employees regarding on-site and virtual staffing needs.

While classes will not meet, faculty will continue to communicate with students regarding courses and adjustments to the spring schedule. Students should continue to check their email for communications from instructors.

Hours for essential campus services will be as follows:

  • Dining Options
    • Christian Cafeteria will be open for breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner from 4 to 7 p.m.

Finally, please continue to be careful through Friday and look out for your neighbors. While the snow has ended, the thaw and refreeze will continue to be a major disruption through Saturday morning and midday. As a note of hope, warmer temps are forecast for Saturday – Monday with us looking at a possible 61 degrees and sunny on campus next Tuesday. Fingers crossed that the weather forecasters get that one right!

We will keep you updated on other changes and encourage you to download the Safe@UCA app and regularly check our homepage, Facebook and Twitter pages for updates.
