Horton elected business association president

Dr. Joseph Horton, professor of economics, has been elected president of the Arkansas College Teachers of Economics and Business Association.

Horton has the unusual distinction of having been elected president of not one, but two state associations. He previously served as president of the Pennsylvania Economic Association in addition to being elected president of three international business associations.

Horton and Lauren Maxwell, UCA professor of international trade and newly elected vice president of the association, recently addressed the organization?s annual state conference on the subject of UCA?s College of Business? innovations in virtual teaming.

According to Horton and Maxwell, student teams at UCA collaborate with student teams at universities around the world to enhance their understanding of each other?s cultures. Through the use of technology, these ?virtual? international teams are created.
