H.E. Andrew Mhando Daraja, Tanzania Ambassador to the United States, will present a lecture on economic development in Tanzania for the Honors College High Table at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17.
Ambassador Daraja began his assignment as ambassador to the United States in July 2002 and accredited to Brazil, Mexico and Venezuela. Prior to his assignment to the U.S., he served as ambassador to Federal Republic of Germany from August 1995-June 2002.
Daraja has a distinguished and highly-recognized career spanning thirty-two years of service as a Tanzania Foreign Service Officer; Secretary, Counselor, Head of Chancery for the Permanent Mission of the United Republic of Tanzania to the United Nations; Head of Section, International Economic Cooperation, Legal and International Organizations Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Personal Assistant and Private Secretary to the President of Tanzania.
