The University of Central Arkansas will host Hideaki Tsustui, who has provided lighting design for hundreds of corporate events, concerts, and television, as an artist-in-residence from Tuesday, March 28, to Thursday, April 6.
During Tsustuis’s residency, he will provide lighting for the opening night performance of “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime,” a play by Simon Stephens. The performance will take place on Thursday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre, located in the Windgate Center for Fine and Performing Arts.
Tickets cost $10 for the public and can be purchased at the Reynolds Box Office from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
Additionally, Tsustui will host “A Life of Lighting Design,” a public presentation on Friday, March 31, at 7:30 pm in the Black Box Theatre. This event is free and open to the public.
Tsustui has designed lighting for numerous artists and productions including Kevin Hart Live, Cindy Lauper, IBM, Herbalife, New York Life, Intuit, APEC Conference, PBS Hawaii, and General Motors.
Tsustui will host a master class titled “What is Lighting Design? How to Tell a Story Through Lights,” on March 28, from 1:40-2:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre.
