On Saturday, April 9, world-famous drummer Gregg Bissonette will appear at the University of Central Arkansas as part of the UCA Day of Percussion. Bissonette is one of the most sought after studio drummers in the Los Angeles area and has performed and recorded with many great artists, including the late Ray Charles, Santana, Brian Wilson, David Lee Roth, Toto, Don Henley and Ringo Starr.
Bissonette will present an educational clinic as well as a concert performance with the UCA Percussion Ensemble. He will also be available to sign autographs after the show.
The Day of Percussion begins at 11:30 a.m. and concludes at 6:30 p.m. All events will take place in the Snow Fine Arts Center on the University of Central Arkansas campus. All ages are welcome to attend. Admission is free.
Bissonette?s appearance is part of the Day of Percussion presented by the UCA Percussion Festival and the Arkansas Percussive Arts Society. The day of percussion will also include presentations and performances by UCA graduate Ben Finley, currently the percussion instructor for the University of Texas Longhorn Marching Band, and the well-known percussionist and composer Thom Hasenpflug.
