The University of Central Arkansas Public Appearances presents Ghostbusters in Concert with the Conway Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at Reynolds Performance Hall.

Watch the full-length original 1984 motion picture, Ghostbusters, on a larger-than-life screen as the Conway Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Israel Getzov,  performs the Grammy-nominated musical score composed by Elmer Bernstein live on stage.

The 1980’s cult classic about a team of Columbia University scientists, who wage a high-tech battle against the supernatural, was written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis and produced and directed by Ivan Reitman. Ghostbusters is a two-time Oscar and two-time Golden Globe-nominated film and includes Ray Parker Jr’s Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping theme song, “Ghostbusters!”.

The much-beloved blockbuster starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis and Ernie Hudson.

Ghostbusters in Concert is produced by Schirmer Theatrical, a concert production company specializing in the creation of symphonic experiences, film with live orchestra concerts, and theatrical productions.

Amanda Horton, UCA Public Appearances executive director, said, “Our community is so fortunate to have the Conway Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Israel Getzov.  We love teaming up with them to bring our audiences spectacular live musical scores from iconic movies.  Ghostbusters in Concert will not disappoint as the movie and the symphony both celebrate their 40th anniversary.”

The event will also include members of the Central Arkansas Ghostbusters group.  Members will be in costume and available for photo opportunities in the Reynolds lobby before the show.
