The Baum Gallery will host its Fall BA/BFA Senior Exhibit from Nov. 1 to Dec. 6 on the University of Central Arkansas campus.

An opening reception for the event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 1, from 4-7 p.m. and a closing reception will be held Sunday, Dec. 2 from 2-4 p.m. at the Baum Gallery in McCastlain Hall. The last day of the exhibition is Dec. 6.

The exhibition is a requirement for graduating students with a BA or BFA in art.

“This exhibition is the culmination of their art education at UCA. Collectively, the work represents a cross-section of the overall effort in the art department.” Bryan W. Massey Sr., professor and interim chair of the Department of Art. “Working with the Baum Gallery, the exhibition also provides a museum venue for the students’ work to be seen individually and in concert with the work of their peers.”

The exhibition gives students the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with the director of the Baum Gallery to install their work. Students gain experience and a better understanding of what it means to show their work in a museum environment. The Senior Art showcase also continues the Baum Gallery’s mission of developing exhibitions that encourage open dialogue among contemporary artists.

Those exhibiting include the following:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Art, Fine Art Emphasis: Isabella Cilia, Conway, and Ryn Daily from Little Rock
  • Bachelor of Arts in Art: Hannah Bernhardt, Conway; Jasmine Jackson, Little Rock; Panipak Kumgade, North Little Rock; Lauren Lee, Conway; Christina Lucas, Conway; and Cody Scrivner from Sulphur Rock

“Hosting the BFA/ BA show in the Baum Gallery is a valued tradition that a number of people in the UCA community enjoy visiting, and it also provides students their first museum venue,” said Brian Young, director of the Baum Gallery.
