School of Nursing faculty from the University of Central Arkansas assisted in COVID-19 vaccinations at Conway Regional Health System.

For 14 days in December and January, faculty from the School of Nursing volunteered to vaccinate doctors, nurses and other health care professionals at Conway Regional.

Susan Gatto, director of the School of Nursing, said faculty volunteered to assist with the vaccinations.

“Our faculty members did not hesitate to volunteer their own time during the winter break,” Gatto said. “We felt like we were contributing in this unprecedented and historic time to help an already stressed healthcare system.”

A total of 24 faculty from the School of Nursing volunteered over 200 hours. The total number of vaccinations given was more than 2,700.
