Dan Abrams to Conclude Lecture Series

The University of Central Arkansas’s Log Cabin Democrat Distinguished Lecture series will conclude Thursday, April 5 with Dan Abrams, attorney, author, legal analyst and television personality on ABC’s Good Morning America.

Abrams will speak at the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall at 7:30 p.m. on the University of Central Arkansas campus. His topic will be “On the Law and in the News.”

Abrams, best known for hosting the programs Verdict with Dan Abrams and The Abrams Report as well as his coverage of the Bush v. Gore Supreme Court battles, was one of the first reporters to correctly interpret the opinion of the court. He was also the chief legal analyst for MSNBC before leaving to be an analyst for ABC News in March 2011, according to his website, dan-abrams.com.

Abrams, born in Manhattan, has been published in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The American Lawyer, Yale Law & Policy Review and is a regular contributor to Men’s Health magazine. He’s currently the chief legal analyst for ABC.

During his time as a court reporter, he reported on such high profile cases as the Menendez Brothers, Dr. Jack Kevorkian, JonBenét Ramsey and the International War Crimes Tribunal. It was his reporting of the O.J. Simpson trial, however, that helped to establish him as a nationally known legal reporter.

Abrams is also the founder of the Abrams Media Network, which includes Mediaite, Styleite, Geekosystem, SportsGrid, and is also co-founder of Gossip Cop. He was formerly the chief legal analyst for NBC and MSNBC, “offering legal analysis of the most important legal stories of the day,” according to his website.
