CONWAY — The Cross Town Trio will perform at the University of Central Arkansas’s Snow Fine Arts Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 28.
The performance is free and open to the public.
The chamber music trio is made up of three Conway music professors who have been playing together for 11 years. Dr. Jackie Lamar, professor of saxophone at UCA, plays saxophone for the trio. Karen Griebling and John Krebs, both of Hendrix, play viola and piano, respectively.
The three hold music degrees from institutions around the country and have appeared on dozens of recordings, (including their own as the Cross Town Trio) and performed all over the world, and with some of the biggest names in music. Lamar, for example, has backed Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin.
“We generally perform at both UCA and Hendrix every year, and we also like to perform at conferences, which we have done in Thailand, Iceland, Slovenia and Canada,” Lamar said. “We will be performing one work from our newly-released CD, Music for the Cross Town Trio, as well as several new compositions by Henri Juguet, David Ashley White, and Russell Peterson.”

The program will include Suite 86by Henri Juguet, Kajalamagee by Margaret Griebling-Haigh and Songs and Dances for a Celebration by David Ashley White.
