CREATIVE WRITING FACULTY SET PUBLIC READING IN LITTLE ROCK

CONWAY — Four faculty members from the University of Central Arkansas’s creative writing program will host a public reading on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Oxford American Annex in Little Rock.

The event at 1300 S. Main St., set for 7 p.m., is free and open to the public.

Faculty members set to read from their work include Assistant Professor Sandy Longhorn, winner of the 2016 Porter Fund Literary Prize; Associate Professors Dr. John Vanderslice and Dr. Stephanie Vanderslice; and Professor and Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication Terry Wright.

Genres explored will include poetry, fiction and nonfiction.

“The audience can expect to be both moved and amused,” Wright said.

The UCA College of Fine Arts and Communication and the Oxford American Magazine are the event sponsors.

The UCA College of Fine Arts and Communication includes the Departments of Art, Music, and Film, Theatre and Creative Writing as well as the School of Communication.
