Jennifer Craun was recently selected as the associate general counsel and Title IX coordinator at the University of Central Arkansas.
Craun has been a practicing attorney for 24 years in all three branches of state government and private practice.
In her role at UCA, Craun will serve as part of UCA’s legal team and will be responsible for state, federal and regulatory compliance matters including but not limited to employment, contracts and education law. As Title IX coordinator, she will help to develop training and programming to support UCA’s compliance with the federal law prohibiting sex discrimination in educational programs and activities.
“UCA students and the diverse and distinguished faculty and staff are why I look forward to working each day. It is gratifying for me to devote my attention to day-to-day legal matters for the university while it focuses on promoting academic vitality, integrity, and diversity,” Craun said. “Serving UCA as Associate General Counsel and helping to prevent discrimination and sexual harassment as Title IX Coordinator is meaningful to me and feels like a rewarding use of my legal training.”
Before joining UCA, she worked for the Bureau of Legislative Research for two years. She also has worked for the Arkansas Administrative Office of the Courts as Juvenile Division director and staff attorney and in the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office. She has formerly worked as deputy prosecuting attorney for the Fifth Judicial District. While in private practice, Craun served as associate attorney for the Peel Law Firm.
Craun earned a Bachelor of Arts from Arkansas Tech University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law. Craun began the new role on Nov. 18, 2024.
