The Conway Symphony Orchestra, in partnership with the University of Central Arkansas and First Security Bank, will present ?Peter and the Wolf? with the Das Puppenspiel Puppet Troupe at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19 at Reynolds Performance Hall.
Sergei Prokofiev?s classic “Peter and the Wolf” is brought to life with beautifully crafted lifesize puppets, in a performance that is both an excellent introduction to the instruments of the orchestra and an enchanting story of charm and drama.
Presented through both narration and musical themes, the story tells of adventurous young Peter, who wanders off into the meadow where he meets an array of colorful characters, including a cat, bird, duck, and, of course, the dangerous wolf. Through his ingenuity, Peter saves the day in his capture of the Wolf in a captivating and charming blend of exquisite puppetry, thrilling narrative, and powerful classical music.
A cookies and punch reception for the children will follow the concert.
Ticket prices are $3 for adults, or free if accompanied by a child (one adult per child please).
