Community Development Institute receives A&P funding

Conway, AR–The Conway Advertising and Promotion Commission announced its decision to fund UCA’s 2015 Community Development Institute. The A&P Commission accepts annual applications for its Special Events Program to provide money to applicants whose events stimulate tourism and produce a positive economic effect on the businesses of Conway. Over 150 community and economic development professionals visit Conway during the first week of August for the annual, four day institute.

“We are grateful for the Conway A&P Commission’s continued investment in the Community Development Institute. The Commission’s endorsement of CDI will help ensure that the 29th annual Institute will be a success,” said Josh Markham, CDI assistant director.

The Community Development Institute Central, established in 1987 at UCA, trains community and economic development professionals in Arkansas and surrounding states. The complete CDI experience is a three year training program, with four days of intensive training per year. Participants move through the program curriculum in cohorts, and are exposed to a comprehensive, applied approach to the field of community and economic development.
