Students, faculty and staff from the University of Central Arkansas, Hendrix College and Central Baptist College will join forces on Monday, April 18 to participate in the 10th Annual Takin’ It To The Streets – College Volunteer Day. Over 350 individuals from the three campuses are expected to volunteer their services throughout Faulkner County for the day.
The event will kick-off with a volunteer rally at 3 p.m. in front of the UCA Student Center. President Lu Hardin will give a welcoming address. Participants will then be divided into teams and assigned to volunteer agencies in Faulkner County. The event will last until 7 p.m., or whenever projects are completed.
Agencies participating in this year’s event include Faulkner County Senior Citizens Center, Bethlehem House Homeless Shelter, Keep Faulkner County Beautiful, Conway Human Development Center, Independent Living Services and Conway Animal Shelter. The first 350 volunteers will receive a free t-shirt.
Takin’ It To The Streets is sponsored by the UCA Division of Student Services, Hendrix College Volunteer Action Center and Central Baptist College Student Life. Other organizations making donations or assisting with this event include CBC Student Government Association, UCA Student Government Association, UCA Physical Plant and BSW Advertising.
