The 9th Annual Takin? It To The Streets ? College Volunteer Day is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, April 12.
Students, faculty and staff from UCA, Hendrix College and Central Baptist College will join forces to go out into the community and volunteer their services to various non-profit agencies and organizations.
A kick-off rally will be at 3 p.m. at Central Baptist College near Bates Plaza, in the center of the campus. Charles Attebery, CBC president, will give a brief welcome. Participants then will be divided into teams and assigned to volunteer agencies in Faulkner County.
Agencies participating include the Faulkner County Senior Citizens Center, HAVEN House, Bethlehem House Homeless
Shelter, Keep Faulkner County Beautiful, United Way, Advent Lutheran Church, Boys and Girls Club, Conway Human Development Center, Independent Living Services and Conway Animal Shelter.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate. Pizza (donated by Domino’s) and Coke products (donated by Coca Cola) will be provided at the rally. Participants will meet at the rally site rain or shine. Some activities will be indoors. Participants are encouraged to wear ?grubby? clothing. Please do not wear flip-flops for shoes. Please bring work gloves if you have them. The first 350 participants will receive a free t-shirt.
