The students, faculty, and staff of UCA’s College of Liberal Arts announce the first Undergraduate Research Symposium, to be held starting at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in the Student Center on the UCA campus.
“I am pleased to see this component of our Educating for Global Engagement (EDGE) initiative move forward with the first College of Liberal Arts Undergraduate Research Symposium,” said Dean Maurice A. Lee. “The response by our students and the dedicated mentoring by faculty demonstrate how ingrained are the values of research and learning in the classroom. I applaud this display which the entire academic community can embrace and acknowledge. Thanks to everyone involved in this project which highlights our student achievement in such a professional manner. “
More than 30 students will present the results of research conducted in courses or through independent study projects in departments within the College of Liberal Arts. Topics include U.S. environmental policy, community issues in Conway, feminism, and religion.
All poster or paper sessions will be held on the second floor of the Student Center. The Symposium will begin at 12:15, with concurrent sessions from 12:15 to 1:30, from 1:40 to 2:30 and from 2:40 to 3:55.
