Lawn of the College of Business
Registered student organizations (RSO) that are sponsored in the College of Business, career services cooperative education and the academic departments will have tents set up on the lawn with games and information about majors and activities in the college. Deboard Electronics is providing sound equipment for music and First Service Bank is providing food. Dr. Tammy Rogers is the faculty contact.
Inventor Harvey Lacey lecture
1:40 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 26
College of Business Auditorium
Inventor and social entrepreneur Harvey Lacey will give a demonstration of his UBUTU Blox building techniques that are allowing women in Haiti to rebuild their homes using Styrofoam and plastic trash following the Haitian earthquake. The main activity that is open to the public will be his lecture at 1:40 in the auditorium followed by a demonstration on the lawn. He will be visiting classes in the morning and will be visiting some local elementary schools to talk about recycling on Friday. Dr. David “Mitch” Mitchell is the faculty contact for this event.
Arkansas Teachers of Economics & Business

McCastlain Hall Ballroom and College of Business
The University of Central Arkansas is hosting the Arkansas Teachers of Economics & Business (ACTEB) conference on September 27 in the McCastlain Hall Ballroom and the College of Business. Economics and business faculty from Arkansas share their research and teaching methods. The conference includes paper sessions, panel discussions, and teaching workshops. Dr. Thomas Snyder is the faculty contact for this event.

William H. “Hank” Henderson, president and chief executive officer, America’s Car Mart, is the featured speaker in the Davis Family Lecture Series. The event is free and open to the public.
Through the generosity of Granger & Jan Davis and Milton & Claudia Davis, the Davis Family Lecture Series was created to feature prominent business men and women who have made a significant impact on business. As pillars of the UCA and Conway community, the Davis Family’s gift to the UCA Centennial Campaign, New Vision, New Century, inspired a lecture series open to all students, faculty, staff, and business community who wish to attend.
