CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas Chamber Singers will present a spring concert on Wednesday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Snow Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The 20-voice group is the most select choral ensemble in the UCA Department of Music and will present a variety of music sung in English, Italian, Latin and French.

The performance will include a beautiful Renaissance motet by the great English composer William Byrd, two movements from atmospheric “Trois Chansons” by Claude Debussey featuring soprano Veena Akama-Makia and two eight-part motets from the English Romantic choral tradition by Robert Pearsall and Henry Leslie, among others.  The performance will conclude with an exciting setting of “Daemon irrepit callidus” by Gyorgy Orban.
