The University of Central Arkansas College of Business Administration has established the UCA Business Plan Competition.
All full- and part-time undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at UCA are eligible to enter the competition. The deadline for submitting a business plan is Feb. 8. Winners will be announced March 3.
The business plan must represent the original work of each contestant. To prepare the plans, students are expected to meet with entrepreneurs, lenders and investors to assemble all necessary information.
Six semifinalist teams will make oral presentations to a panel of judges on Feb. 23. Winners will be selected based upon the written plans and the oral presentations of the entire business concept looking at overall feasibility, combined with significant capital gains potential, attractive investment possibilities and actual implementation.
Prizes include $750 for first place; $500 for second place and $250 for third place. CA competition winners will be encouraged to submit winning business plans to the Governor?s Cup Competition which will be held in Little Rock in April.
