CONWAY — The Broadway musical production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will take the stage at the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas on Monday, Sept. 28, as part of the new season of UCA Public Appearances.

The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is sponsored by radio station The Fish 93.3. Tickets will range from $23‐$40 for the general public and $10 for children and students.

This new production, directed and choreographed by Tony® Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler, follows Joseph, Israel’s favorite son, through his ups and downs, his troubles with his 11 jealous brothers, and his adventures with the magical coat of many colors.

“We can’t wait to welcome this production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to Reynolds,” said Julia Dossett Morgan, director of Marketing & Finance for UCA Public Appearances. “Joseph is a family-friendly musical that highlights the power of love and loyalty. We’re certain it will be a hit with our audience.”

The uplifting performance is the first collaboration of Andrew Lloyd Webber, composer of Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera and Cats, and Tim Rice, lyricist of Jesus Christ Superstar and The Lion King.

The musical combines a wide variety of musical styles, including pop, country and rock to memorable songs such as “Those Canaan Days,” “Any Dream Will Do” and “Close Every Door” for the whole family to enjoy.

“Not only is this the first show in our very popular Broadway series for the 2015-2016 season, but it’s a giant show with amazing costumes, choreography, lights and, of course, the songs everybody loves by Andrew Lloyd Webber,” Dossett Morgan said.

Produced by TROIKA Entertainment, LLC, the tour features Scenic Design by Beowulf Boritt, Costume Design by Jennifer Caprio, Lighting Design by Howell Binkley, Sound Design by John Shivers and David Patridge, Projection & Video Design by Daniel Brodie, and Music Supervision by David Kreppel.
