February is Black History Month, and the University of Central Arkansas is celebrating with a series of in-person and virtual programming to celebrate the accomplishments of the Black community. It’s a time to honor and recognize the central and significant role that African Americans have and continue to play at UCA and in U.S. history.
In honor of Black History Month, the UCA Office of Diversity and Community and student organizations are sponsoring events ranging from a live museum experience to a talent night. The month of events will kick off with Gospel Night: “Act Like You Know” featuring Dr. George Parks, Jr.

Gospel Night: “Act Like You Know”
- Tuesday, Feb. 1, 6 p.m.
- Old Main, Ida Waldran Auditorium
- Students can come and enjoy gospel singing and the dynamic word from Dr. George Parks, Jr., that will bless your soul. Suggested attire: Sunday’s best. Sponsored by Students for the Propagation of Black Culture and UCA Diversity and Community.
Spoken Word Artist Kyla Jenee Lacey
