“Best of” screening featuring student films set for Sept. 20

“BEST OF” SCREENING FEATURING UCA STUDENT FILMS SET FOR SEPT. 20

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas host its first “Best of” Screening, featuring films produced by students at UCA in the last few years, at the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall on Thursday, Sept. 20.

The 7 p.m. event is free and open to the public.

Joe Dull, associate professor of digital filmmaking, notes that UCA students who have directed these films have worked hard and are sure to win fans from their productions

“It’s been amazing to watch the growth of the students in the years that I’ve been here,” Dull says. “They’ve really turned into some great filmmakers.”

The screening will feature films from a variety of genres such as comedies, thrillers and westerns that range from two-minute to 20-minute productions.

Films to be screened include:

Man in the Moon by Kim Risi;

Sacred Ground ­by Ben Aaron;

Cotton County Boys by Collin Buchanan;

Ouachita Rising by Brent Williamson;

Sepepperated by Hunter Sample;

The Drip by Eric White;

Greed by Trenton Mynatt;

The Register by Kat DelaCruz; and

Immoveable Quarter by Brandon Bogard.

“This is the first “Best of” we’ve ever done,” Dull said. “We hope to make it an annual event.”
