BAUM GALLERY TO HOST SENIOR SHOW APRIL 6-27

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas’s Baum Gallery will host the Senior BA/BFA exhibition April 6-27.

The exhibition is free and open to the public.

“The BA/BFA exhibition is perhaps the most important exhibition that the Baum hosts,” said Brian Young, Baum Gallery director. “The artwork has been selected in conjunction with the faculty to showcase the culmination of the students’ university training. Taken together, this body of work is a source of pride for the College of Fine Arts and Communication and, in particular, for the Art Department.”

Students graduating in spring 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts with emphases in fine art or art education or a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art are required to exhibit their work in the senior show.

BFA students exhibiting include Rayne Cottrell of Conway, printmaking; Sally Lee of Little Rock, painting; and Rebecca Robinson of Greenbrier, painting.

BA students include Caylie Barnett of Little Rock, art education; Matthew Bogues of Pearland, Texas, fine art; Marissa Drees of Little Rock, fine art; Kayla Emerson of Booneville, Mississippi, art education; Mary Fowler of Pine Bluff, fine art; Hope Gillham of Hot Springs, fine art; Lauren Hall of Bryant, fine art; Myron King of Conway, fine art; Laurel McClellan of Crossett, fine art; Savanna Moore of Searcy, art education; Marko Sunga of Heber Springs, fine art; Amy Teeter of Pottsville, fine art; Ana Udochi of Conway, fine art; and Reagan Wentzel of Fairfield Bay and Sherwood, art education.

Two receptions will be held in the Baum Gallery for this exhibition: Thursday, April 6 from 4-6 p.m. and Sunday, April 9 from 2-4 p.m.

The Baum Gallery is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entry to the exhibitions and the gallery is free and open to the public.

The Baum Gallery is an educational art museum on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas. The museum promotes student and faculty work, coordinates original exhibits distinctly suited to an academic environment and brings significant national and international touring exhibitions to central Arkansas.
