Baum Gallery concluding anniversary with events

The Baum Gallery invites UCA staff and faculty to take advantage of two art opportunities that will conclude celebration of the gallery’s 10-year anniversary (1995-2005). Original art works in the 10x10x10 for the Baum exhibition are available through 5p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27 for online or in-gallery bidding. All works are within 10 inches in height, width and depth and were donated by artists to benefit the gallery exhibition program. Prices range from $15 to $100 and purchases are tax-deductible.

Tickets are available through the gallery for the Jackson Pollock Painting Party, an evening of ?50s tunes, dancing, refreshments and hands-on “action painting” opportunities to take place in downtown Conway from 7-10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at 828 Front St. (former Randy?s Athletics storefront).

The Pollock Painting Party re-creates a 1950s New York City-style urban art opening, when the center of the art world moved from Paris to New York, attracted by the energy of modern American art typified by Jackson Pollock whose ?action paintings? made him an art star. Tickets are tax-deductible. Individuals may make reservations by calling Baum Gallery at (501) 450-5793 or RSVP online at www.uca.edu/cfac/baum.
