CONWAY — The Fall 2012 BA/BFA Juried Senior Exhibition, featuring graduating UCA art majors, will be on view at the University of Central Arkansas’s Baum Gallery of Fine Art Nov. 15-Dec. 7.

Receptions for the exhibition will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, from 5-7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 18, from 2-4 p.m. in the Baum Gallery in McCastlain Hall. The receptions and exhibition are free and open to the public. Some works on display will be for sale. Prices are provided upon request.

All students seeking either a Bachelor of Arts with a Fine Art or Art Education emphasis or a Bachelor of Fine Arts: Studio Art degree must participate in a senior exhibit in order to fulfill their graduation requirements. This fall, the exhibition will feature the work of 11 BA and six BFA undergraduates and will feature work in a variety of media.

BA students participating in the exhibition are Amanda Mamula of Batesville, Emily Casey of Salem, Taylor Livingston of Texarkana, Kristen Farmin of Bryant, Jeana Myers of Conway, Patricia Graves of Bryant, Kenneth Nelson of Stuttgart, Hunter Brown of Hensley, Rachel Halford of Conway, Kamiron Walters of Pine Bluff and Jay Haynes of Dumas.

BFA students participating in the exhibition are Sarah Crider of Van Buren, Hunter Oden of Sheridan, Michael Barnett of Greenbrier, Heather Chiddix of Little Rock, Julie Isom of Conway and Patty Hearst of Greers Ferry.

To display in the exhibit, both BA and BFA students must show their work and have it approved by art faculty review panels.  The semester preceding the exhibit, the BFA students must submit proposals of their work to art faculty.  After approving the proposals, art faculty provide the students with guidance throughout the creation process.

The Baum Gallery of Fine Art is located in the west wing of McCastlain Hall, 201 Donaghey Avenue.  For directions and a campus map visit: http://www.uca.edu/cfac/baum/gallery_info.html.  Gallery hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., with extended hours on Thursdays until 7 p.m. The gallery is also open on Sunday 1-5 p.m.
