“It is such an honor to see the hard work our organization has put in over the last eight years pay off, said AFA President Caitlin Fitch. The members of AFA love UCA and want fellow students to develop the same affinity for the university so we can maintain a strong relationship as alumni.”
This award is outstanding news, said UCA President Allen C. Meadors. My highest praise goes to those who have worked so hard to make this an award winning program.
Jan Newcomer, director of alumni services, said, We were excited this spring when we received regional recognition for the AFA Freshmen Survival Kits, but to be recognized as one of the top three programs in the nation is simply outstanding. We are extremely proud of our AFA students and the pride and integrity in which they represent UCA and its alumni and students.
AFA has been selling Freshmen Survival Kits as a gift from families to incoming freshmen students since 2003.
Freshmen survival kits contain an array of back-to-school items, UCA spirit gear, snacks and coupons. They are sold for $20 each in July and August, prior to the start of school.
