Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre’s sixth season opens June 7 with William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night.” The professional theater company will offer more than 25 performances of the four productions throughout the month of June. The season lineup includes Shakepeare’s “Twelfth Night,” “The Tempest,” and “Richard III,” and the musical “Big River,” with music by Roger Miller.
Shows will be performed at three locations this year – Reynolds Performance Hall at the University of Central Arkansas, at The Village at Hendrix at Hendrix College in Conway, and at Wildwood Park for the Performing Arts in Little Rock.
Actors have come from all over the country to perform in these productions, alongside the best and brightest talent in Arkansas.
“Our goal with this series of complementary productions is that our audience will become engaged and delighted with the characters in each one. It’s a journey for the characters and I hope that it’s a journey for the audience as well,” said Rebekah Scallet, AST director.
Outdoor performances at The Village at Hendrix are “pay-what-you-can.” Spectators are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and dinner. For more information, visit http://arkshakes.com.
Ticket prices for performances at Reynolds Performance Hall range from $27 to $10. The outdoor performances at Wildwood Park are $20 for adults and $15 for children.
