ARKANSAS CODING ACADEMY DEMO DAY

Students from the inaugural graduating class of the Arkansas Coding Academy will debut their Android applications during Demo Day on Monday, Nov. 14 from 12 p.m.– 2 p.m. in the McCastlain Hall Ballroom. President Tom Courtway, Associate Vice President for Outreach and Community Engagement Shelley Mehl and Arkansas Coding Academy Director Mary Dunlap will host this event.

Demo Day is an event for recent Arkansas Coding Academy graduates to showcase their final projects and portfolios to potential employers and the community. To prepare for this special event, the 15 students spent three months learning to code and program languages to develop Android mobile applications.

Demo Day is a community event and is open to the public.

As part of the UCA Division of Outreach and Community Engagement, the Arkansas Coding Academy was launched earlier this year to meet the state’s growing demand for well-trained developers and provides education and training to individuals seeking new careers in programming and/or information technology.

The Arkansas Coding Academy is currently enrolling for its next boot camp and part-time classes, which will be held at UCA starting in January. For more information, visit arkansascodingacademy.com.
