CONWAY — Amy Grant will visit the University of Central Arkansas for a concert in the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall on Tuesday, April 2.

The 7:30 p.m. concert is part of UCA Public Appearances’ Pop Series.

Jerry Biebesheimer, director of Public Appearances, said the concert would provide a rare opportunity to be close to a performer with a “high quality voice.”

“To get to hear her in a space as intimate as Reynolds is unusual,” he said. “She has a one-of-a-kind voice.”

Grant popularized contemporary Christian music in the late 1980s and was the first artist in that genre to have a platinum record. Shebecame one of the first crossover stars with the release of her 1985 pop album, “Unguarded.”

“Unguarded” reached Top 30 Pop and Top 10 Adult Contemporary charts, and the music video appeared on MTV.

Grant has done more than achieve secular and gospel success; she has successfully bonded the two worlds together. She continues to write and record music for both genres, covering such topics as love, heartbreak, faith and healing.

Tickets, available at the UCA Ticket Central Box Office, range from $30-$40 and are $10 for children and students with a current student I.D.  For tickets, call (501) 450-3265 or toll free from anywhere in Arkansas at 1-866-810-0012 or visit www.uca.edu/reynolds.
