Candidates in nine races have agreed to participate in “Election 2010: The Debates,” which will tape and air on the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) Oct. 11-15.
All debates will be held at the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall on the University of Central Arkansas campus in Conway. The public is invited to attend any of the debates and will be seated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Debates, which will air on the same day they are taped, include:
- U.S. Congressional District 1 candidates Ken Adler (G), Chad Causey (D) and Rick Crawford (R), taping Monday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. and airing at 6:30 p.m. Repeats Sunday, Oct. 24, at noon.
- U.S. Congressional District 2 candidates Joyce Elliott (D), Tim Griffin (R), and Lewis Kennedy (G), taping Monday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m. and airing at 7:30 p.m. Repeats Sunday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m.
- Lieutenant Governor candidates Shane Broadway (D) and Mark Darr (R), taping Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. and airing at 7 p.m. Repeats Sunday, Oct. 24, at 2:30 p.m.
- Gubernatorial candidates Mike Beebe (D), Jim Keet (R) and Jim Lendall (G), taping Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. and airing at 8 p.m. Repeats Sunday, Oct. 24, at 3:30 p.m.
- U.S. Senate candidates John Boozman (R), Trevor Drown (I), John Gray (G) and Blanche Lincoln (D), taping Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m. and airing at 6:30 p.m. Repeats Sunday, Oct. 31, at noon.
- U.S. Congressional District 4 candidates Joshua Drake (G), Beth Anne Rankin (R) and Mike Ross (D), taping Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 3 p.m. and airing at 8 p.m. Repeats Sunday, Oct. 31, at 1:30 p.m.
- Secretary of State candidates Mark Martin (R) and Pat O’Brien (D), taping Thursday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. and airing at 7 p.m. Repeats Sunday, Oct. 31, at 2:30 p.m.
- U.S. Congressional District 3 candidates David Whitaker (D) and Steve Womack (R), taping Thursday, Oct. 14, at 2 p.m. and airing at 8 p.m. Repeats Sunday, Oct. 31, at 3:30 p.m.
- Attorney General candidates Dustin McDaniel (D) and Rebekah Kennedy (G), taping Friday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. and airing at 7:30 p.m. Repeats Sunday, Oct. 31, at 4:30 p.m.
In addition to keeping viewers informed about the candidates, “Election 2010: The Ballot Initiatives” will air Friday, Oct. 15, at 6:30 p.m. and repeat Sunday, Oct. 31, at 5:30 p.m. A panel will discuss Proposed Constitutional Amendment No. 1, an amendment to provide for a constitutional right to hunt, fish, trap and harvest wildlife; Proposed Constitutional Amendment No. 2, concerning interest rate limits; Proposed Constitutional Amendment No. 3, to amend amendment 82 of the constitution of Arkansas to authorize the general assembly to establish criteria before authorizing the issuance of bonds for prospective employers planning an economic development project.
