The Center is named after Dr. Jamie C. Brandon who was an influential and well-respected archaeologist in the mid-south, particularly in Arkansas. Prior to his untimely passing in 2018, Dr. Brandon routinely devoted his time to conducting research within a pedagogical framework as an undergraduate and graduate mentor. He regularly provided student opportunities to do fieldwork and conduct archaeological research. The mission of the Center is to emulate his devotion to student-based opportunities in archaeological fieldwork and research.
