Lunar New Year, also known as the Chinese New Year, is one of the world’s most prominent and celebrated holidays. Celebrated by more than 20% of the world population, it is the most important annual event for many countries in Asia. This year is the Year of the Dragon and it starts on February 10th, 2024. The dragon in Chinese culture is a symbol of dignity, health, honor, success, luck and strength.
The Center for Chinese Language and Culture at UCA will host a celebration on February 9th, the eve of Chinese New Year, with music performance, art, and Chinese food. It is open to UCA and the local Asian community in Conway.
