Have you always wished you could better serve UCA’s growing population of Spanish-speaking students and families? Consider joining the UCA Community Language School’s (part of the School of Language and Literature) “Spanish for University Staff” inaugural lunch and learn cohort for full time UCA staff during Spring 2024. The 10-week course requires no prior exposure to Spanish and will meet on Wednesdays (1/31 to 4/10) from noon to 1pm in the Christian Cafeteria Executive Dining Room. Free lunch is provided, with a generous donation from the UCA Provost’s Office.
You’ll learn the basics of conversational Spanish; specialized vocabulary you can use in your daily professional interactions with UCA students, their families, and community members; and information that will help you be more culturally sensitive when working with diverse populations.
To register, please send an email to kknox@uca.edu no later than Monday, January 29 at noon with a two-sentence explanation of why you want to take this course and how you imagine it helping you better serve the UCA community. Space is limited and priority will be given to those who respond earliest.
