Collective trauma impacts large groups of people whether it is a family, community, or an entire nation. When we experience an event(s) that disrupts our sense of safety, trust, and connection, we may disconnect from others, experience increased anxiety, powerlessness, fear, anger, and/or grief. An additional layer of complexity may be added when we are in a role of responsibility. How do you take care of others and still be there for yourself?
Join us on Thursday, February 26th at 12 pm – 1:30 pm in Student Health Center 307 for a discussion on staying empathetic while moving towards healing. Please confirm your attendance by emailing Reesa at Reesar@uca.edu by 2/23/26. Lunch will be provided so please let me know your limitations. Facilitators will be Maria Negrete Padron, Office of Student Advocacy & Community, Charlotte Strickland, HR Employee Engagement & Enrichment, and Reesa Ramsahai, Counseling Center. Any questions please contact Reesa.
