Announcement: Dr. Jesse Butler of the Philosophy and Religious Studies Department was selected for and is currently participating in the interdisciplinary summer institute on Self-Knowledge for Humans & Artificial Systems, hosted by the National Endowment for the Humanities! This two-week interdisciplinary institute aims to explore the problem of self-knowledge from its classical roots in philosophy and contemplative traditions to contemporary discussions of metacognitive A.I. Dr. Butler offers over 20 years of experience in philosophy of mind, with research on introspection, self-knowledge, and applied ethics that will add an invaluable perspective to the questions asked at the summer institute, along with many other esteemed professionals from universities around the country.
