Looking to receive funding from UCA Staff Senate for your initiative, event, or group that will support staff? We’re here to help! Complete the Staff Senate Funding Request form. Please submit your request at least 2–4 weeks prior to a Staff Senate General Body Meeting to be considered for funding. Meetings are held on the second and last Wednesday of each month. You will be contacted with a date to present your request to Staff Senate. After presenting to Staff Senate, you will be informed via email whether or not your funding request was approved (partially or fully) or denied. Volunteer Information
Attire for volunteers is business casual (no jeans). Please wear your UCA name badge if you have one. If you do not have one, a commencement volunteer name tag will be provided for you.
Duties include passing out programs, scanning tickets, welcoming visitors, giving directions, assisting with accessible and reserved seating, answering questions, and assisting graduates, faculty and visitors.
Volunteers will need to report to Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center Room 101 to check in at their shift start time, which is 1 hour and 30 minutes before the ceremony. Some volunteers will be dismissed 30 minutes after the start of the ceremony, and others will be asked to stay until the ceremony concludes (expected ceremony time is 1 hour and 30 minutes). Please pay attention to your shift end time when signing up.
UCA employees may choose to receive holiday time (reported and tracked through Staff Senate) or flex time, if approved by their supervisor.
Thank you for assisting with this important campus celebration and momentous occasion in the lives of our students! We appreciate you helping ensure that we have a safe and enjoyable event!

Dr. Jonathan Dacus, DDS, with 42 years of experience in family and cosmetic dentistry, will be sharing insights on the importance of maintaining good dental health. He’ll also provide helpful tips to guide you on how to improve and protect your dental well-being. This will be on Thursday, July 17th, from 1:45 pm – 2:30 pm in the Integrated Health Science Building- Community Classroom and via Zoom. September 30, 2025, Mobilize Recovery is launching the Campus Surge 2025 initiative at the University of Central Arkansas as part of a nationwide effort to tackle the challenges of substance use and mental health among college students. This event aims to raise awareness, provide valuable resources, and empower students to become advocates for recovery within their communities. Join us in this celebration, and please encourage students to participate by incorporating this event into your syllabus or for extra credit/ volunteer opportunities.

UCA’s annual Volunteer Fair will take place on Tuesday, September 9th, from 1-3pm on the Ronnie Williams Student Center Lawn (Inclement Weather Location: RWSC Ballroom). Departments with volunteer opportunities, service-oriented RSOs, and community organizations can register as vendors in order to help UCA students get involved in the community and connect with opportunities to serve.

The On-Campus Student Employment Fair is scheduled for August 19 from 10 am – 12 pm in the Ronnie Williams Student Center Ballroom. The deadline to register for a table at this fair is August 12. All on-campus employers who plan to hire new student employees this academic year will need to participate in this fair. Please coordinate with others in your department/office to register for only one table.
