Love history, but also love your major? A History minor might be right for you! A History minor perfectly complements degrees in anthropology, art, business, communications, English, foreign languages, philosophy, political science, psychology, and theater. Our minors come from all over campus. Even biology, computer science, cybersecurity, economics, geography, information systems, and music majors benefit from the unique skills the History Department offers. We have something for everyone!
What can a History minor do for you? Boost your research skills, strengthen your communication abilities, and sharpen your critical thinking. History minors understand how long-term developments shape current events. They understand what motivates different groups of people to act. They understand how context – when something happens – affects what happens. And they can articulate their ideas clearly and concisely. In the “real world,” History minors have an edge over the competition.
Something else you should know: Most students who complete UCA’s lower-division core need only a few more classes to complete their History minor!
