Which History degree is right for me?
The History Department’s Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree prepares students for careers in public
service, law, media relations, museums, libraries, business, information systems, publishing,
education, and other fields. Our B.A. program develops critical reading and thinking skills, oral
and written communication, and analysis and interpretation of conflicting evidence. Our students
develop the portable research, analytical, data management, and communications skills today’s – and
tomorrow’s – employers need.
Our B.A. program empowers students to take classes that serve their
current interests and future goals. B.A. students have the option of completing either a
traditional minor or career-focused concentrations that prepare them for specific professions.
