Program Goals

CSD Master’s Program Goals:

  1. Educate Competent Professionals: to prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders effectively.
  2. Facilitate Interprofessional Practice: to prepare students for the whole-person care in an effort to focus on the comprehensive well-being of an individual.
  3. Promote Evidence-Based Practice: to instill the importance of using current research and evidence in clinical practice to ensure the best outcome for clients.
  4. Foster Lifelong Learning: to encourage continuous professional development and commitment to lifelong learning in the field of communication sciences and disorders.
  5. Advance Research in the Field: to contribute to the knowledge base of communication sciences and disorders through innovative research that addresses current challenges and advancements in the field.
  6. Enhance Cultural Competence: to prepare students to work effectively with diverse populations and understand the cultural factors that impact communication and swallowing disorders.
