Cyber Range Announcement
Governor Asa Hutchinson Wednesday announced that a $500,000 grant from the Arkansas Department of Higher Education will be provided to the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) to help pay for a fully functional dedicated cyber range for educational training—a first-of-its-kind operation.

JMNR Prairie in Full Bloom!
The JMNR committee wanted you all to know that the Jewel Moore Nature Reserve prairie will be on fire with blooming Blazing Star and other perennial prairie plants from June 23rd until July 3rd or so. If you’re in Conway, please consider a walk through the reserve on UCA’s campus to see the show and you’ll notice many improvements Dr. KC Larson and her crew have made in the last year.
CNSM represented at UCA’s 64th Annual Service Awards
Congratulations are in order for several CNSM faculty members that were recognized at UCA’s Annual Service Awards. Dr. Andrew Mason, Physics and Astronomy, and Dr. William Taylor, Chemistry, were both finalists for the Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity Award. Invaders of Mars! Premiere 2/10
Invaders of Mars! premieres at the Griffin Planetarium this weekend, playing both Friday, 2/10 and Saturday, 2/11 promptly at 8 pm. The free public show includes a tour of the current night sky!For the full Spring 2017 schedule and directions to Griffin Planetarium, please click here.
Secret Lives of Stars premieres 1/27/17
“Secret Lives of Stars”, narrated by Sir Patrick Stewart, has been added to Griffin Planetarium Shows’ rotation schedule. Shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm in GRIFFIN PLANETARIUM in the new Conway Corporation Center for the Sciences Room 108. The approximately one-hour show will include a tour of the current evening sky, flights through the universe, and the full-dome production of”Secret Lives of Stars”. Admission is free. Seating is first come first serve for up to 94 people. Shows start promptly at 8pm. No admittance once the show has begun.

Southwestern Energy Endowed Fund for Student Research
The University of Central Arkansas received a gift of $300,000 from Southwestern Energy Company to support undergraduate and graduate student research.
The Southwestern Energy Endowed Fund for Student Research will be granted to students conducting research in the fields of environmental science, geography and physics. Graduate student Christopher Robinson was announced as the first Southwestern Energy/Steven L. Mueller Research Fellow on December 5, 2016. To read more, please click here.
