Fair rides, funnel cakes, face painting and free goodies were all to be found at UCA’s annual
Fall Fest on Monday, Oct. 23.

Fall Fest is an annual event hosted by the Student Activities Board as a kick-off to a week’s
worth of homecoming festivities on campus.

The event took place in the HPER parking lot, with several vendor booths, rides and food
trailers.

Freshman Tyler Lister was an SAB volunteer at his first Fall Fest and said he enjoyed all the
event had to offer.

“My favorite part about Fall Fest is probably the rides and the food. The waffles on a stick were
chef’s kiss. I rode the ride with the most screaming on it today, and other than the headache, it
was really fun,” Lister said.

Several fair rides and a zip line were at Fall Fest, as well as a funnel cake trailer, a Las Delicias
trailer with frozen treats and a booth giving out waffles on a stick.

Along with the rides and food, there were several vendors with free gifts for students to enjoy
from art to jewelry to balloons and crafts.

Freshman Zoe Gallup said all the booths were what drew her in.

“We just saw the tents and thought it looked fun so we came over. We’re looking forward to
looking around and going to all the tents and seeing what everything is,” Gallup said.

Some of the booths set up at Fall Fest included a pearl jewelry booth, a balloon animal artist, a
pressed flowers booth, grab-and-go craft kits, a “butt sketch” artist, a guitar pick jewelry booth
and a henna tattoo artist.

Fall Fest is the first event of homecoming week each year at UCA, with the goal of getting
students excited for a week full of events, leading up to the homecoming game on Saturday.

UCA’s homecoming celebrations continue throughout the week, leading up to the Bears’ 4 p.m.
kickoff against Tarleton State University.
