The UCA Wind Ensemble is the premier organization within the UCA Bands department and comprises the finest musicians at the university. The Wind Ensemble performs six concerts during the academic year, showcasing significant new works for wind band, foundational pieces in wind literature, and chamber music composed throughout the medium’s history.
The Wind Ensemble has been invited to perform at the 2027 CBDNA National Conference in College Park, Maryland…a first for the university! Other highlights include numerous guest artist residencies, including: John Mackey (composer), Doreen Ketchens (clarinet), Nois Saxophone Quartet, Nicholas Enrico Williams (guest conductor), Will Healy (composer) with his ensemble ShoutHouse, Emmy-winning composer Adam Schoenberg & GRAMMY-winning composer Michael Daugherty, and numerous faculty/alumni featured performances.
