With the globalization of today's economies, knowledge of other people's histories, traditions and
cultures is advantageous to personal advancement in our contemporary world. Isolation or cultural
arrogance is detrimental to global interchange. The Asian Studies minor program allows students to
learn about one of the most rapidly growing regions of the world. Composed of many countries diverse
in traditions, Asia is rich in history, art, religions, and culture. The Asian Studies minor can be
especially helpful to those individuals wishing to enter MBA programs in international business, or
people intending to enter graduate schools in subjects related to Asia, or to any student interested
in learning about traditions and peoples of Asia.
