[1] Purpose
The Pre-Occupational Therapy course of study prepares students for admission to the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program at UCA. Completion of the course of study does not guarantee admission to the Occupational Therapy program. For specific admission requirements, see the Occupational Therapy page of the current Graduate Bulletin.
[2] Course of Study
Admission to the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program requires completion of a baccalaureate degree and the following 25 hours of prerequisite course work with a grade of C or better.
Prerequisite Coursework (25 hours)
- SOC 1300 Principles of Sociology OR ANTH 1302 Introduction to Anthropology
- PHYS 1405 Applied Physics OR PHYS 1410 College Physics 1
- FACS 2341 Lifespan Development OR PSYC 3321 Developmental Psychology*
- H SC 3123 Medical Terminology
- PSYC 3323 Abnormal Psychology*
- BIOL 3406 Structure and Function of the Human Body I AND BIOL 3407 Structure and Function of the Human Body II OR 8 hours of equivalent two-course sequence of Human Anatomy and Physiology at the 2000-level or above.
- Statistics (PSYC 2330, MATH 2311, SOC 2321, CISA 2330)
*PSYC 1300 Introduction to Psychology is a prerequisite for PSYC 3321 and PSYC 3323.
