Bio

The broader vision of my position as research compliance officer is oversight of the responsible conduct of research (ethics, accountability, transparency, and incident reporting) at UCA. In this capacity, I work with faculty, the Institutional Review Board (IRB), the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and other parts of our upper administration to foster and coordinate research compliance efforts and coordinate university responses to violations of research standards. I am responsible for the development, interpretation, and implementation of policies and procedures related to research. And I communicate the progress and implementation of the compliance program in response to the changing needs of UCA, federal regulations, and governmental policies where applicable.

I provide daily oversight of human participant research through the IRB, animal subject research through the IACUC, the Biological Safety Committee, the Radiation Safety Committee, financial conflict of interest related to grants, and export control.

I have taught Community Health Problems as an adjunct instructor in Health Sciences for the last three years.

For the last four years, I have served as the treasurer and policy liaison for the Community Action Program of Central Arkansas (CAPCA), whose mission is educating eligible participants by providing quality services which empower lives, expand self-reliance and increase community involvement.

In my spare time, I love to read and spend time with my friends, family, and grandchild.
