UCA Next Generation Service Corps

In 2025, the University of Central Arkansas partnered with the Volcker Alliance to join the Next Generation Service Corps, a nationwide network of higher education institutions committed to preparing undergraduate students for public service. UCA is the first institution of higher education in Arkansas to join this network to inspire and prepare students to serve their communities.

UCA’s Next Generation Service Corps Program (NGSC) is open to all students, regardless of major, who express an interest in public service, civic engagement, and solving public policy problems. During their time in the program, students engage in various courses, activities, and opportunities that help build skills to become future servant leaders. Students in the program participate in experiential activities including internships and community service activities, enjoy access to exclusive events and activities, visit with public service professionals, and network with other students from across the country who are dedicated to public service.

The UCA NGSC offers students a unique opportunity to learn about complex policy problems and societal challenges from different perspectives; develop essential leadership skills; and build a diverse network of student peers, public service leaders, and community members that will aid them in achieving their career goals. The UCA NGSC prepares students to be leaders in all fields, across all sectors, working collaboratively to solve policy problems.

The ideal NGSC student has a passion for public service, an interest in learning about policy problems, and a willingness to create policy solutions for the betterment of their community.
