Minor in Public Administration – 24 credit hours
All students minoring in Public Administration will complete a total of twenty-four [24] credit hours, including Core Requirements (15 credit hours) and Issue Area Requirements (9 credit hours).

Public Administration (PADM) Course Descriptions

Core Requirements (15 credit hours) – Students must complete each of the following courses:
- PADM 2310, Introduction to Public Administration and Policy
- PSCI 3300, State Government & Politics
- PADM 3310, Public Management
- PADM 3320, Public Policy Analysis
- PADM 4320, Government Budgeting
Notes:
1. Students majoring in Political Science who choose to minor in Public Administration must use PADM 2310 for the Political Science major. Therefore, Political Science majors must select an additional course from the Public and Non-Profit Management issue area or the Policy Analysis and Advocacy issue area to meet the 24-credit hour requirement for the minor in Public Administration.
2. PADM 3320, Public Policy Analysis, fulfills the UCA Upper-Division (UD) Core requirement in the Capstone [Z] area.

Issue Area Requirements (9 credit hours) – Students must complete six [6] credit hours from the Public and Non-Profit Management issue area and three [3] credit hours from the Policy Analysis and Advocacy issue area. PSCI 1330, U.S. Government & Politics, is a prerequisite for all upper-division political science (PSCI) and public administration (PADM) courses. PADM 2310, Introduction to Public Administration & Policy, is a prerequisite for all upper-division PADM courses. Some of the upper-division elective courses in the issue areas satisfy the UCA Upper-Division (UD) Core requirements, which consist of upper-division elective courses in five different areas – Effective Communication [C], Diversity [D], Critical Inquiry [I], Responsible Living [R], and Capstone [Z].
