Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Political Science

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Political Science is a social science degree for students seeking to gather and analyze information, explain political phenomena, and address political problems. Students pursuing the BS degree in Political Science will complete introductory political science courses in public service & policy, comparative politics, international relations, and political theory.  Students will complete upper-division electives in several interdisciplinary fields, including comparative political analysis, human behavior, law & institutions, policy & program analysis, and theory.  In this degree program, students will also complete an experiential learning requirement, such as an internship, research project, or other high-impact learning activities outside of the classroom. The BS degree in Political Science prepares students who plan to pursue graduate degrees in political science and related areas, as well as law degrees.  Graduates of the degree program may pursue professional careers in the public and private sectors, including leadership roles in government, law, military, and corporations.

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Political Science:

BS in Political Science – Students who declared a major in political science (BS degree) prior to Fall 2022 will complete these requirements.

BS in Political Science (Revised) – Students who declare a major in political science (BS degree) starting in Fall 2022 will complete these requirements.
